There were a number of primary documents studied on the issue in the last decade. Most of them were reports on main fishing gear e.g. gill nets and crab traps, while few papers studied on other gear types. The papers cover Sumontha and Wungkahart (2006), Dechboon and Somchanakij (2006), Wungkahart et al. (2006), Wungkahart and Sumontha (2006), Srichanngam and Petchkamnerd (2006), Srichanngam and Rungruang (2006), Poonpanich et al. (2006), Wungkahart et al. (2007), Siripech et al. (2007), Jankusol and Singhagraiwan (2009), Jindalikit et al. (2010), Arunrojprapai et al. (2010), Mookkaew et al. (2011), Boutson and Takafumi (2011), Srikum et al. (2012), Petsalapsri et al. The Gulf of Thailand (GoT) is among the most productive large marine ecosystem, in which

the marine capture fisheries in GOT, within Thai territory, contributes over 65% of about 2.5 x106

tonnes of the countrys total marine production each year (Lymer et al., 2008). The fisheries in

the GoT are intensively both inshore and offshore areas and declines in fish biomasses, in quite

number of species had been observed, which raise the concern on the appropriate fisheries

managements that can be balance both economics and environmental paradigms (Ahmed et

al., 2007; Koolkalya et al., 2015; Satumanatpan and Pollnac, 2017).

The natural diet of blue swimming crab, Portunus pelagicus, was investigated from October 2008 to October 2009 using hand sampling and a crab gill net. The results showed that the major prey items in the stomach contents of P. pelagicus were teleost fish (29.61%), organic matter (20.69%), ...

Cannibalism in blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) raised under simulated earthen pond condition in 1.5 x 2.5 m2 concrete ponds at a density of 3 crab/m2 was studied. The experiments were conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD)...
